The Quantum Health Benefits plan is a fully-insured health benefits plan that encompasses a range of valuable features, including Telemedicine, Prescription Drug Coverage, a Hospital Indemnity Plan, Critical Illness Plan, Accident Plan and more. The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
Key features:
Tax Benefit: The Quantum Health Benefits plan reduces your taxable income every paycheck and returns most of that money to you in a non-taxed form. For most people, this means more take-home pay every week.
Emergency Room reimbursement: Quantum Health reimburses you up to $500 per visit for trips to the Emergency Room.
Hospital Indemnity: Quantum Health reimburses you up to $1000 per night for admitted stays in the hospital.
Prescription Drug Coverage: Quantum Health gives you yet another program to present to your pharmacist when determining which coverage will save you the most on your prescription drugs.
Surgery and Anasthesia Benefit: The plan reimburses you for up to $1000 for surgical procedures, hospital rooms, nursing care, and other services during your hospital stay AND up to $400 per anesthesia encounter.
Critical Illness Plan: The plan reimburses you up to $2500 for newly detected critical illnesses including cancer, stroke, heart failure, organ failure, major surgeries and other life-threatening conditions.
Telemedicine Benefit: The plan provides 24/7 access to remote consultation with healthcare professionals for all family members. This benefit is available to the employee AND anyone that lives in their home, regardless of insurance coverage.
Using Quantum:
Tax Benefit: The tax benefits is automatically applied to any employee enrolled in the program.
Reimbursements: After your encounter, you will receive an Explanation of Benefits from your healthcare insurance provider. Attach a copy of that document to the American Global Claim form and send both items to Quantum. You will receive your reimbursement based on the methods and timing you select.
Telemedicine: This benefit is accessible through the Health Wallet app at any time.
What’s the catch?
Enrollment: In order to stay enrolled, you have to complete a health fitness activity every month. These activities must be completed through the Health Wallet app and consist of anything from a survey of your health to reading an article on the dangers of smoking. You need only complete one activity per month, but the rest are there as resources for you.
Disenrollment: The company cannot disenroll you from the program. In order to disenroll, you must contact Quantum yourself and complete the steps that they outline.
So, what’s the catch?
The Federal government instituted a program to provide tax benefits to companies and individuals that participate in long-term health benefit programs. Quantum is one such program. Both the employee and the company receive tax benefits through this program now, and the government hopes that they will pay less later.
